Wizkid and Asake have confirmed they are collaborating on a joint project titled REAL (Vol. 1), set for release this December. The announcement was made during their appearance on Apple Music Radio, where both artistes described the undertaking as a body of work for “the people.

The joint EP marks a formal merging of Wizkid; a globally recognised name in Afrobeats, and Asake, a major figure in the Nigerian music scene whose blend of street-pop and Afrobeats has drawn wide acclaim.

The two have previously worked together on individual tracks, but this new project represents their first full-scale collaborative effort.

Although the tracklist and exact release date have not yet been revealed, the duo dropped an early teaser with a song titled “Jogodo,” which they previewed during the radio takeover.

The timing of the release is widely interpreted to coincide with the festive “Detty December” period, a season when many Nigerians celebrate with music and gatherings — suggesting the EP may aim to capture that high-energy mood.

The collaboration follows a history of shared success: Wizkid previously featured on Asake’s hit “MMS,” a track that performed strongly on streaming platforms. That background suggests an established creative chemistry that could carry through to this larger project.
