Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has administered the oath of office to five newly appointed Special Advisers in a bid to strengthen his executive team as his administration implements its policy agenda.

The ceremony, held on Friday at the Government House in Port Harcourt, saw the appointees formally sworn in before beginning their official duties.

At the event, Fubara said the appointments were intended to enhance governance and ensure efficient delivery of public services, noting that the advisers’ prior experience in public office would be an asset to state administration. “These appointments are made to strengthen governance and ensure the smooth running of this administration,” he said, linking the reshuffle to efforts to advance his government’s mandate.

Fubara told the new aides that their roles should be approached with seriousness and a commitment to fulfilling the administration’s obligations to the people of Rivers State, cautioning that the positions were not for “pleasure but for work.” He said he expected them to bring dedication and effective performance to their responsibilities as part of the broader effort to recover lost ground and deliver on campaign promises.

Those sworn in included Eloka Tasie-Amadi, Professor Peter Medee, Emmanuel Frank Fubara, Hon. Victor Ekaro and Dr. Darlington Oji, all of whom have served in various capacities in government and are now charged with advising the governor on strategic matters.

Fubara’s expansion of his advisory team reflects ongoing adjustments within the state executive council as he seeks to consolidate administrative capacity and align key personnel with his policy priorities early in the year.
