The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has completed its statutory transition into the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), unveiling a new institutional logo to mark the formal establishment of the restructured national revenue authority.
The change took effect following the enactment of the Nigeria Revenue Service Establishment Act, 2025, which was signed into law by President Bola Tinubu in June 2025 and officially took effect at the start of the new fiscal year.
The unveiling ceremony, held on Wednesday in Abuja, was attended by senior officials of the newly constituted service.
In a statement issued through his Special Adviser on Media, Dare Adekanmbi, the Executive Chairman of the NRS, Zacch Adedeji, said the launch of the logo and accompanying brand identity marks an important milestone in the evolution of Nigeria’s revenue administration framework.
Adedeji said the new corporate identity underscores a commitment to modernise revenue operations in line with the nation’s broader economic transformation agenda and global best practices.
He said the rebranding reflects a renewed focus on efficiency, integration, and improved taxpayer services. “The unveiling of the NRS identity reflects a renewed commitment to a more unified, efficient, and service-oriented revenue system, one that is aligned with Nigeria’s economic transformation agenda and global best practices.”
According to the chairman, the new identity also signals continuity of purpose and strengthened institutional capacity, with an emphasis on fostering greater partnership between the revenue authority and the Nigerian public.
“The Nigeria Revenue Service remains committed to transparency, partnership, and service excellence. The unveiling of this new identity represents not an end, but the beginning of a strengthened relationship between the revenue authority and the Nigerian public built on trust, clarity, and shared prosperity,” he said.
The establishment of the NRS is part of a comprehensive overhaul of Nigeria’s tax framework aimed at broadening the revenue base, improving compliance, and streamlining administration under a unified statutory authority.
