Napoli head coach Antonio Conte has been handed a two-match suspension and fined €15,000 following his dismissal during Napoli’s Serie A defeat away to Inter on Sunday.
The sanction was confirmed by Lega Serie A, which announced the disciplinary measures after reviewing the incident that led to Conte’s red card in the second half of the match.
Conte was sent off after reacting angrily to a VAR-awarded penalty in Inter’s favour.
The Italian coach was seen kicking a ball from the technical area, before throwing a bottle to the ground and directing angry remarks at the fourth official as he left the pitch.
As a result of the suspension, Conte will not be present on the touchline for Napoli’s upcoming league fixtures against Parma and Sassuolo.
Napoli are next in action on Tuesday, when they host Parma in a rescheduled Week 16 Serie A fixture at the Stadio Maradona, before welcoming Sassuolo at the same venue next Saturday.
