Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has implemented a minor cabinet reshuffle, making key changes to his executive team as part of ongoing efforts to reposition governance and improve administrative performance.
In a statement issued on Monday by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Professor Olanike Kudirat Adeyemo was relieved of her position as Secretary to the State Government with immediate effect.
In her place, Makinde appointed Professor Musibau Adetunji Babatunde as the new SSG, underscoring the administration’s focus on personnel alignment to meet current governance needs.
The reshuffle also moved Barrister Temilolu Seun Ashamu from his role in the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources to the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, a shift that reflects attempts to enhance fiscal oversight and planning within the state government.
In addition, the governor elevated his Senior Special Assistant on Public Works, Ademola Aderinto, as a commissioner-designate, noting that Aderinto will be presented to the Oyo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation ahead of taking up his new responsibilities.
The statement also confirmed the appointment of Honourable Abiodun Adedoja as Special Adviser on Energy Security and Kolawole Elijah Akanmu as Senior Special Assistant on Budget and Economic Planning, positions the administration said are vital to strengthening policy implementation in sectors crucial to the state’s development agenda.
All the announced changes take effect immediately as Makinde seeks to refine the executive structure and respond to evolving administrative priorities for 2026.
