The African Democratic Congress has commenced a 90-day nationwide Membership Mobilisation, Revalidation and Registration exercise as part of its internal organisational process ahead of congresses and a national convention scheduled for early next year.

The party announced the start of the registration drive on Saturday, saying it will engage members and supporters across Nigeria to strengthen its grassroots presence.

In a statement by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the process follows resolutions of the National Working Committee meeting held on November 27, 2025, and is being undertaken in accordance with relevant provisions of the party’s constitution. “This exercise is aimed at mobilising new members, revalidating existing ones and strengthening the party’s grassroots base ahead of upcoming congresses and the national convention,” he said.

Circulars issued by the party’s National Secretary, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, indicate that the congresses for the election of delegates at the polling unit, ward and local government levels have been provisionally scheduled to hold between January 20 and January 27, 2026.

The activities will culminate in a Non-Elective National Convention slated for February 2026 in Abuja, where party structures and leadership matters are expected to be addressed.

The planned registration and mobilisation exercise marks another phase in the ADC’s efforts to expand its footprint ahead of national and state elections, as party officials encourage eligible Nigerians to participate in the process and comply with the provisions of the party’s constitution.
